STOCKHOLM 2011

Jun.28, 2011 | Blog by: Jo Angel

OMG it’s been such a loooooong time… :/ I mean, I’ve heard that they say ‘time flies’ but never seen that actually happen- until now! Where did May go????

Lots of things, gigs, songs, co-writes, camps, have happened. I’ve been so privileged to participate many fabulous sessions during these past six months. It’s breath-taking! Like Musical Suspects Camp last week in Copenhagen- so much talent in the air. I’m happy. I’m also having a new ‘musical’ project in mind, I’ll tell you about it a bit later… :)

I’m in Stockholm now, it’s raining but that’s always a good reason to drink some good tea and just enjoy the music!!! I’ll be here co-writing some songs and also on a vacation. To combine those two things is easy- I usually just write!! ;D But I love it. <3

Talk soon! Enjoy the summer!

Oh, it’s been a while since I’ve been writing my little diary stories here! I mean the summer just came and passed me by so fast with some gigs, great interviews, hot weather… And in the end of it I also moved to a new home so I have almost forgotten this diary here..sorry about that…;) But now I’m back!
I’ve been participating these really cool Finnish tv-programmes called Kymppitonni and Suomi laulaa, for example, and I’ve had quite a few interviews too so it was a good summer for me that way. I’ve also been writing songs for other artists this summer with some co-writer friends both in Stockholm and Helsinki, but also in Turku and Hämeenlinna. It’s been great and now it feels good to ‘be back’ and concentrate on updating these things here and feel the inspiring spirit of the Finnish autumn.. :)
I’m always running around and enthousiastically doing many different projects at the same time -that’s me!- so I easily forget to get some proper rest and vacation. So, I just booked a flight to the Mediterranean where I will spend a little while now, just to get some rest, sun, tan and, well, all kinds of things that you’re looking to experience while on vacation. :) And I’ll start my song writing again in the end of this September then, feeling refreshed and reborn!! ;D
I will write you some details then about this ’summer’ holiday of mine. But now before the journey, I will take a bite of a delicious fresh apple taken straight from my family’s old apple tree. These are the best things in life u know… :)
Best,
Jo A.

Hälsningarna från Örnsköldesvik!

Here I am, in the middle of the beautiful Swedish summer, writing songs at a song writing camp. It’s nice and loud around here when writers from Tokyo, Hamburg, Stockholm, USA and Espoo (to mention but a few) are runnin’ around from a studio room to another. It’s great to be here! ;)

I’ve been in a good hurry for a few weeks anyway, after the album release. I just returned from my Paris holiday on Tuesday and immediately started packing for this song camp in Sweden. My laundry wasn’t even dry yet when I was packing my bags for this trip;) But I don’t mind, travelling is great!:) Oh, and before leaving here I had a couple of nice interviews, too..but I think I get the best out of me when I’m running around in a bit of a hurry and don’t have too much time to lay down. That’s when I get the best ideas and reach the highest energy level. And then when I want or need to, I think one of the best ways to relax for me is shopping (which I really did in Paris!!)…;)

It’s twenty to twelve pm now and I’m still getting some new ideas and melodies after today’s writing sessions. So this is a good time for me to right down my ideas for this diary/blog when the thoughts are still running fast. Otherwise, this day is now wrapped up and has been a very good one. It has been a good start for this camp. :)

I’m still gonna set my alarm clock for the morning and put my jogging shoes ready for the morning jog. My plan is to go out and do some easy running in the morning, right next to the water area and those green hills. It’s beautiful here.

Good night. Good morning. Good day.
